Istanbul: Angka kematian akibat gempa bumi kuat berukuran 7.7 skala Richter yang melanda Myanmar meningkat kepada 3,706 orang, dengan 5,017 lagi cedera dan 130 masih hilang setakat Selasa, lapor Anadolu Ajansi memetik Myanmar Now.
Gegaran kuat pada 28 Mac itu turut dirasai di negara jiran termasuk Thailand, menyebabkan bangunan Pejabat Audit Negara runtuh di Bangkok.
Menurut Bangkok Post, angka kematian akibat runtuhan bangunan meningkat kepada 44 orang pada Selasa selepas lebih banyak mayat ditemukan di lokasi kejadian.
Timbalan Gabenor Bangkok Tavida Kamolvej berkata cebisan mayat yang ditemukan dihantar kepada polis forensik untuk pengesahan identiti, sekali gus mengesahkan angka korban.
Menurut Pentadbiran Metropolitan Bangkok, seramai 50 orang masih dilaporkan hilang di lokasi berkenaan.
Pihak berkuasa Thailand meminta kedutaan Myanmar mengumpul sampel DNA daripada penduduk yang tinggal berhampiran sempadan Myanmar-Thailand bagi membantu proses pengecaman mangsa.
Pegawai daripada pelbagai agensi kerajaan turut menjalankan siasatan berhubung punca runtuhan bangunan, termasuk menyemak latar belakang kontraktor dan menilai kualiti bahan binaan yang digunakan.
KUALA LUMPUR, 16 April- Seramai 228 orang daripada 75 keluarga terjejas banjir di Sabah, setakat pada pukul 6.00 pagi tadi.
Jumlah berkenaan tidak berubah berbanding pada pukul 12.00 tengah malam tadi.
Menurut Portal Bencana Pusat Kawalan Bencana Negara (NDCC), Agensi Pengurusan Bencana Negara (NADMA), banjir di Sabah melibatkan daerah Beaufort dan Keningau.
"Di Beaufort, 152 orang daripada 54 keluarga terjejas banjir. Satu pusat pemindahan sementara (PPS) dibuka di daerah itu.
"Manakala di Keningau; 76 orang daripada 21 keluarga terbabit dengan banjir. Hanya satu PPS dibuka di daerah berkenaan," menurut kenyataan tersebut.
Selain Sabah, Johor turut dilanda banjir.
Seramai 56 orang daripada 17 keluarga kekal terjejas banjir di negeri itu.
Ia hanya melibatkan daerah Segamat, dengan dua PPS dibuka di daerah terbabit.
JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in Johor has increased slightly to 195 as of 4pm Monday (April 14), compared to 188 at 10am.
The state disaster management committee said the increase was the result of heavy rainfall on Sunday (April 13), causing stagnant floodwaters in Segamat and Batu Pahat to rise.
“All affected families have been evacuated to three temporary relief centres, namely SMK Seri Gading in Parit Raja, Balairaya Kampung Batu Badak, and Dewan Komuniti Kampung Tasek in Jementah,” it said in a statement.
The victims in Batu Pahat are from Kampung Baharu, Kampung Parit Bengkok, Kampung Parit Kaspan, Kampung Parit Samion and Kampung Parit Samijan.
Meanwhile, those in Segamat are from Kampung Seberang Batu Badak, Kampung Batu 5 Jalan Muar, and Kampung Seberang Batu Badak.
KUCHING (April 14): Heavy rain and thunderstorms have been forecast in the southern and northern parts of Sarawak until 6pm this evening.
In a notice by Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), areas affected are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Miri and Limbang.
Similar weather conditions have also been forecasted in Sabah, particularly at the interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan and Keningau), west coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud), Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Kinabatangan and Sandakan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu) .

BANGKOK: The Bangkok authorities have recovered four additional bodies from the collapsed Office of the State Audit Office (SAO) building following the recent earthquake, bringing the total death toll to 41, with 53 people still missing.
Rescue operations continue, with debris removal now nearly 50 per cent complete.
As of Monday (April 14) at 10am, a total of 103 individuals have been confirmed as victims of the disaster.
Four additional bodies were recovered overnight, bringing the current death toll to 41, with nine people injured and 53 still unaccounted for.
Overnight, rescue teams expanded their operations to zones B4 and C1, where faint light signals had previously been detected.
Crews successfully cleared obstructing beams and excavated an area measuring 4m deep and 5m wide to allow K-9 units and rescue personnel to search more effectively. However, no signs of life were detected in this operation.
Currently, approximately 50 per cent of the debris removal has been completed. Despite the ongoing Songkran holiday, all emergency personnel remain fully deployed.
Heavy machinery continues to operate at full capacity, with monitoring teams stationed across all zones. Water is being sprayed regularly to control dust, and manual searches resume whenever machinery halts.
BMA spokesperson Ekwaranyu Amrapal stated that the city has deployed psychologists and interpreters to support both rescue personnel and the families of the victims.
As of 3pm on April 13, a total of 23,405 individuals have formally reported damages.
The top five districts with the highest number of reports include Chatuchak with 3,080 cases, Huai Khwang with 2,580 cases, Bang Sue with 2,501 cases, Phasi Charoen with 2,067 cases, and Thonburi with 1,140 cases.
All 50 district offices have begun scheduling inspections and damage assessments for affected buildings since April 10.
These activities continue through the Songkran holiday, although limited access has been reported due to many residents being away.
The authorities urge building owners to contact their respective district offices upon returning home.
Victims seeking financial aid must submit requests to their local district office within 30 days of the incident, no later than April 27, 2025.
Police officers have been stationed at all district offices during business hours to facilitate the filing of official reports.
Damage evaluations will be conducted by district-level committees and reported to the BMA’s DPMM.
