ASEAN Disaster Recovery Consultation and Scoping Study Workshop | 27 & 28 August 2024 | Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
The Workshop was officiated by the Deputy Director General (Policy) NADMA Malaysia and attended by the National Disaster Management Organisations (NDMOs) from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, the ASEAN Secretariat and AHA Centre as well as Timor Leste as observer. There were also attendees from FAO, UNDP and APG joining the workshop. The Workshop was led by Mr. Arwin Soelaksono as the consultant of this project.
The Workshop aims to be a platform for knowledge sharing and exchange best practices in the recovery sector in order to collect insight, experiences, good practices from ASEAN Member States and other critical stakeholders in the region on the implementation of disaster recovery; to share and discuss the possible procedure, roadmap, and actionable activities to strengthen the recovery sector at the national and regional levels; to discuss the development of a coordinated approach and strengthen regional cooperation with other sectors to address the challenges posed during the recovery phase.
The Workshop was co-hosted by NADMA Malaysia together with the AHA Centre with the support from the Sabah State Government.
