KUCHING (March 11): Heavy rain and thunderstorms have been forecasted in the southern and central parts of Sarawak until 9pm tonight, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a notice issued today, the areas involve Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Saratok, Kabong, Sarikei, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Matu, Dalat, Belaga and Sebauh.

Similar weather conditions are also set to occur in Sabah, involving Kinabatangan and Sandakan.

Several areas in Kedah (Sik and Baling), Perak, Kelantan (Pasir Mas, Jeli Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang) and Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman) will also be experiencing bad weather.

Aside from that, thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected in Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran and Bera), Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson and Jempol) and Johor (Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian).
