KL storm topples trees, damages 7 vehicles and home

KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain caused several trees across the city to fall and damage seven vehicles and a house today.

Kuala Lumpur, Cheras and Sentul Civil Defence Force officer, Major (PA) Ahmad Junaidi Dukut Soerharto said the department received multiple reports of fallen trees in different locations during the heavy downpour today but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

He said the first incident occurred at Jalan 3/23D, Danau Kota, at 4.54pm where two trees were uprooted and fell. damaging seven vehicles.

"In another case at Jalan Cengal Selatan, Taman Setapak at 5.04pm, seven trees fell, causing a house roof to be damaged and a resident also sustained slight injury.

"Later at about 7.21pm,we received reports of another fallen tree at Jalan Brunei Selatan, Pudu, and at Jalan Sultan Salahuddin at 6.20pm, but no vehicles or individuals were affected," he said.

Following the incidents, he said several teams were deployed to the affected areas to clear the fallen trees and restore traffic flow.
 
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, especially during unpredictable weather conditions, to prevent further incidents.
