Over RM429,000 in flood aid distributed to seven states, says M'sian Relief Agency

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) has channelled flood aid amounting to over RM429,000 across 41 areas affected by floods in seven states.
The states receiving aid are Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, Melaka, and Perlis.
The MRA said that the donations included both food and non-food aid, along with various services.
"The food aid distribution consists of 2,795 packs of basic food, 1,700 packs of cooked food, 5,935 packs of ready-to-eat food, and 100 packages of other food items," the agency said.
In terms of non-food aid, the MRA has donated 2,200 pieces of clothing, 40 packs of baby items, 2,700 hygiene packs, and 900 packages of other essential items.
The MRA also provided cleaning services for public libraries, various surau, and 72 homes, benefiting 737 residents. In addition, 131 mobile clinics were dispatched to care for children, adults, and the elderly.
In a statement, the MRA expressed appreciation to individuals, corporates, and various parties who contributed to the MRA2024/2025 Flood Relief Fund.
The agency also urged Malaysians to continue supporting efforts to help flood victims through donations and solidarity.
