GAS Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia), a member of the MMC Group, has secured additional gas volumes via the Trans Thailand-Malaysia (TTM) gas pipeline system.
This is part of the latest development on the recovery of gas supply in affected areas following the transmission gas pipeline fire incident at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor.
“This development has significantly improved the gas supply to the affected areas in Klang Valley and other parts of the Northern region of Peninsular Malaysia.
“Gas Malaysia has mobilised its technical workforce to restore gas supply progressively. As of today (April 17), we are pleased to announce that gas supply has been successfully restored to 259 out of 275 of its affected customers,” Gas Malaysia said in a statement.
Concurrently, Petronas Gas Berhad has announced that the current best estimate for the restoration of gas supply is by July 1, 2025.
Hence, customers are strongly advised to use the supplied gas within the recommended capacity to maintain the integrity and safety of the gas distribution network.
“Gas Malaysia sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding of our customers during this challenging time. “We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational integrity,” it added.
Gas Malaysia said it will continue to work closely with regulators, authorities and relevant stakeholders to provide the necessary support to its customers. — TMR
