29 Feb 2024 - An informal meeting between officers of NADMA Malaysia and officers from the Embassy of the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur was held on 29 February 2024 to discuss on the possible collaboration of mutual interest in disaster preparedness and response.

 The Embassy of the Philippines was led by Mr Leandro Luiz Manantan, Second Secretary and Consul whilst NADMA Malaysia was led by Senior Principal Assistant Director (Policy) and accompanied by Principal Assistant Director (Operations Coordination) and Senior Assistant Director (Policy).

The Embassy has expressed their interest to learn and work closely with NADMA Malaysia to enhance disaster preparedness and response strategies for both countries. NADMA Malaysia also shared the same interest and welcomes these initiatives.

The meeting in principal agreed to pursue the establishment of MOU to concretize cooperation in disaster management.
