All Sarawak air monitoring stations record ‘Moderate’ air quality

KUCHING (Oct 6): All air quality monitoring stations in Sarawak recorded ‘Moderate’ air quality as of 4pm on Tuesday, according to the Natural Resources and Environment Board’s (NREB) Air Pollutant Index (API) Status for Sarawak.
Serian recorded the highest API reading at 98, followed by Bintulu at 91, while Kuching and Samalaju registered 90 each.
Samarahan and Mukah recorded 86 each, followed by Lundu (85), Betong (81), Belaga (80), Tebedu (78), Sri Aman and Kanowit (76 each), and Sibu (75).
Lubok Antu and Sarikei registered 74 each, followed by Miri (72), Kapit (69), Lawas (65), ILP Miri and Bario (62 each), and Limbang (61).
An API reading of zero to 50 is classified as ‘Good’, 51 to 100 as ‘Moderate’, 101 to 200 as ‘Unhealthy’, 201 to 300 as ‘Very Unhealthy’ and above 300 as ‘Hazardous’.
