MIRI (Oct 27): The Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) Miri Branch is expanding its humanitarian outreach by exploring a strategic partnership with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM).
This collaboration aims to strengthen community welfare programmes, with a particular focus on enhancing disaster response capabilities.
A recent courtesy visit to YFBM’s headquarters, led by DUBS Miri Chairman Mohammad Hafidz Rohani and Honorary Secretary Khairul Sapardin Mohamad, solidified this commitment.
They were welcomed by YFBM Chief Executive Officer Johan Halid, General Manager Yang Rafidah Othman, and Head of Marketing and Communication Mohamad Syah Hendri Herman Mardja.
In recognition of their previous joint efforts, DUBS Miri presented a Certificate of Appreciation to YFBM for its crucial support during flood relief missions in Miri, Bekenu, Niah and Bintulu earlier this year.
Mohammad Hafidz said the meeting focused on planning future joint initiatives to supply essential food items, beverages, and basic necessities during emergencies like floods and landslides.
“Through our DUBSCARE initiative, we will continue to actively support community aid operations, including the transportation and distribution of assistance to disaster-stricken areas,” said Mohammad Hafidz.
“DUBS Miri reaffirms its commitment to expanding its welfare network with government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community partners to ensure swift and effective aid delivery to those in need.”
Following the discussions, the delegation toured YFBM’s storage facility to observe its aid supply management system firsthand.
