3 rivers in Petaling, Klang breach flood warning threshold

PETALING JAYA:
Β Four river stations operated by the irrigation and drainage department (DID) recorded water levels above the warning threshold as of 8.15pm today.

The stations are at Sungai Bakul at Kampung Budiman, Petaling; Sungai Rasau at Taman Desa Kemuning, Klang; Sungai Rasau at Tugu Keris, Klang; and Sungai Binjai at Pekan Meru, Klang.

According to the DID portal, this indicates that the river water is approaching flood levels, and residents in the affected areas are advised to prepare for possible evacuation.

Several social media users shared updates on flooding in the affected areas, including reports that flood warning sirens had been activated this evening.

Threads user @azleee77 said the first warning siren sounded at 5.45pm before it was switched to a danger siren at 6.40pm.

Another Threads user, @miazays, shared images of rising water levels around Central i-City, Shah Alam.

Earlier today, heavy rain triggered flash floods in parts of the Klang Valley, including at a food court in Petaling Jaya.
