JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in Johor has increased slightly to 195 as of 4pm Monday (April 14), compared to 188 at 10am.
The state disaster management committee said the increase was the result of heavy rainfall on Sunday (April 13), causing stagnant floodwaters in Segamat and Batu Pahat to rise.
“All affected families have been evacuated to three temporary relief centres, namely SMK Seri Gading in Parit Raja, Balairaya Kampung Batu Badak, and Dewan Komuniti Kampung Tasek in Jementah,” it said in a statement.
The victims in Batu Pahat are from Kampung Baharu, Kampung Parit Bengkok, Kampung Parit Kaspan, Kampung Parit Samion and Kampung Parit Samijan.
Meanwhile, those in Segamat are from Kampung Seberang Batu Badak, Kampung Batu 5 Jalan Muar, and Kampung Seberang Batu Badak.
