Kelantan govt donates RM500,000 to Putra Heights fire victims

KOTA BARU: The state government has donated RM500,000 to Selangor as a sign of solidarity with the victims of the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights.
The contribution was handed over by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, to a representative of the Selangor government during his visit to the Selangor Menteri Besar's residence yesterday.
According to Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan, the contribution was a gesture of responsibility and fraternity, given that similar aid was provided when the state was affected by floods.
"Aside from the RM500,000 contribution to the Selangor government, financial assistance was also given to seven families involved, who are also residents of Kelantan, with each receiving RM5,000 and electrical appliances.
"One of the seven families is from my constituency (Dewan Undangan Negeri Temangan), and I have personally handed over a personal contribution.
He expressed his sorrow over the incident that occurred on April 1 but was grateful that all victims were safe, including the seven Kelantanese families who were believed to be in their hometowns for the festive period when the incident occurred.
Earlier, Fadzli officiated the 2025 Islamic Cultural Seminar at Dewan Putik Pengkalan Chepa, here. Present was the chairman of the Kelantan Tourism, Culture, Arts, and Heritage Committee, Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor.
