Johor flood evacuees drop to 309

JOHOR BAHRU: The number of flood victims in Johor has declined, with 309 people from 104 families still at a temporary relief centre as of 8am Wednesday (April 9), compared to 318 victims from 107 families on Tuesday.

State Disaster Management Committee chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani said all the victims, who are from the Batu Pahat district, are sheltering at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Gading relief centre.

"The victims are residents of Kampung Baharu Sri Gading, Kampung Parit Bengkok, Kampung Parit Kaspan, Kampung Parit Samion, Kampung Parit Haji Salleh Ros, Kampung Parit Sri Muar, Kampung Sri Pandan and Kampung Parit Samijan.

"The Sungai Senggarang in Batu Pahat district is still at a warning level of 3.18m, while the Sungai Batu Pahat is at an alert level with a reading of 2.30m," he said in a statement Wednesday.

 

He said the weather across all districts in Johor this morning was reported to be clear. - Bernama
