Thunderstorm, heavy rain warning issued by MetMalaysia for nine states

KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected across various regions in Malaysia, with warnings in effect until 5pm on Saturday (April 19), said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on its Facebook page.
Perlis and several areas in Kedah, including Kubang Pasu and Kota Setar, are on alert.
Pahang's Cameron Highlands is also expected to experience adverse conditions.
In Selangor, districts like Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang, along with Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, are expected to face severe weather.
A warning has been issued for several areas in Negeri Sembilan; Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Tampin.
Melaka and various regions in Johor, such as Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru, are also forecasted to experience adverse weather.
In Sarawak, areas like Kuching, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei (Sarikei and Julau), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Kapit (Belaga), and Limbang are expected to face severe conditions.
Sabah regions, including the Interior (Sipitang and Tenom), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud), Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Beluran), and Kudat (Kota Marudu), are also under the thunderstorm warning.
This warning is issued when thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.
